Road To NGA Heart of America

Postby AaronHeidebreicht » Tue Dec 15, 2009 9:29 pm

Hey guys I have been reviewing my upcoming schedule this next year and have marked my first Pro qualifier as the NGA Heart Of America in Washington, IL. This will be the 13th annual of this event and has produced some very successful Pros thus far. The competition should be very tough but I will be bring an even better package this year to the stage. LG Sciences has supplied me with the best supplements to take my physique to the next level. I plan on coming in around 175-180lbs and be absolutely shredded(is there any other way). I will be blogging my progress here so stay tuned to follow. I still am thinking about doing an INBF contest or two before the NGA show but I will have to weigh the pros and cons about trying to turn Pro in two different leagues. I still have about 3 more weeks of offseason till I start to slowly diet, I do not plan on cutting carbs too much as I do not feel a keto diet is the best way to come in full and tight. It works well for some but not me, I can keep my carbs at a medium while prepping for a show and I feel that gives me an advantage to those who have to cut carbs. Stay tuned for progress updates and weekly photos of my progress.

working on getting all my diet plans and supplements though out for the slow process of dieting. Here is what i am thinking about stacking when it comes time to get contest ready.

BC+EAA(probably will use 3 servings a day when cutting cal.)
Lipotropic Protein
Anadraulic Pump
Speed V2
I-gh-1
ghenerate
lipo burn
fish oil(2g with every meal)
flax oil(2tblsp a day)
multi-vitamin(GNC Sport)

I still have time to work on the diet and get everything together. I will start dieting a little early to make sure I get ultra shredded this year and dry. Conditioning is everything in Natural Bodybuilding so I need to work really hard at this aspect. These supplements will be different then last year but should be 100x more beneficial.

I always use flax as one of my healthy fatty acids. It is an omega 6 and is great for joint support as well as adding in easy calories with the liquid version. Have you never used flax before? give it a try along with taking fish oil, it makes a difference in overall health and blood lipid profile.

I personally see flax oil as a waste of money. It theoretically does what fish oil actually does. It takes too much ALA to convert to DHA and EPA to be as effective as fish oil, so I always bypass it. If I were going to use flax anything, it'd be milled flax seeds to get the fiber and other nutrients they have that flax oil doesn't, but I use psyllium husk for a fiber supp, so I don't use them. You ever try cod liver oil? It has a lot of benefits as well.

No havent tries any cod liver oil before, I get alot of people who talk about it and krill oil in my stores. I use fish oil regularly but I like the joint support benefit from flax still and many nutritionists believe that it is actually more beneficial to use the two in combination than just one. But everyone has their preferences when it comes to supplements. Pretty soon Ill start eating more fish and will cut back on supplementing it so much.

Training this wek has been going great. I have been lifting heavy and I feel that I am getting stronger. I started adding the ghenerate and Anadraulic Pump to my stack and I am really liking them so far. I have been sleeping much better and feeling more rested even off 6 hours of sleep. My pumps have been great, I just hit back last night and have never had a back pump like that. I still have about 3 weeks left befpre I start very slowly cutting. I wont cut calories till Feb. I will start by introducing 30-40 min of cardio into my routine and see how my body responds with just cardio. I dont like to change too much, too fast. My training will still stay heavy and intense(as always), and eventually I will add in the Speed V2 to give me a metabolic boost.

GOt up early today, Its christmas Eve and before I head to my familys place for the next 2 days I have to get legs in. Thats right Im going to the gym when no one else will be there to hit legs and then ill get into the christmas spirit.

My routine today looks like this im combing quads/hams(normally I split them up)

leg extensions 4 sets working up to 230lbs all to failure
Leg curl 4 sets working up to 170 lbs all to failure

Squats working up to 415lbs for 4 reps, 315 for 8 reps, 220 for 10 reps
dumbell stiff leg deads I warmup with the 60lbs in each hand and work up to the 110lbs in each hand

Hack squats working up to 300lbs for 6 reps, 210lbs for 10 reps, 135lbs for 12 reps
One leg isolated curl 3 sets using 60 lbs

I finish with 2 sets of walking lunges with 185lbs on my back, I usually get about 10 steps forward and 10 steps back to the rack.

After a session like this I slam some Aminos with Carbs. About 20 min later I take 2 scoops of Lipotropic protein to help further recovery. Leg day is done and now I can go enjoy X-Mas.
